A shorter art day because the power was off all day.
I learned that having to fix bad drawing, value and color in a painting is much harder than if I just started over. This was a good learning experience. I knew that when I started this painting that I was rushing it and right after this painting I put some practices into place that would keep me on the right path to purposeful performance and today has proven the wisdom in that.
Even though I worked hard to fix the drawing on this painting I still think it has many issues with accuracy. Mainly due to drawing in paint rather than using a more precise pencil. I would have loved to use a pencil to fix the drawing but drawing over oil paint just doesn’t work that well. Also I had to contend with all the different colors of the under painting confusing my drawing lines.
I’m okay with the color and value in the painting. I intentionally and working with neutrals so everything is a bit gray. It just needs a lot more refinement before I can bring it back to where I want.
Productive and effective day! With what time I had.
Better sleep tonight.
Eat well, shutdown on time and meditate before bed.
