Daily Art #2948

Letting go this morning with lots of charcoal I filled in most of the lower half of my Princess Bride drawing.

Lately I’ve move back and forth from working on small patches at a time to blocking in huge areas and working from there. But drawing is more complex than just picking one method and doing the same method throughout a drawing or all drawings. Instead I find it more beneficial to know the surface that you’re trying to describe and choose the method to best communicate. For the portraits go slow and work section by section with detail, but for clothing block it in first and work in large planes.

Above all though, ask questions and constantly be curious.

What went well, what was awesome! Celebrate It!

Even after a rocky start to my morning I got some great focus in on the princess bride drawing.

What needs work? What did you learn?

Heal my knees.

How am I going to Optimize moving forward?

Take the next couple days off from exercise and walking. I will loose energy during the day but it’s imperative that I get my knees back in order.
