Daily Art #2915

I’m very close to starting this drawing over. But I’ll give it a day more.

The failure for this drawing started at the beginning when I chose the paper and size of the portrait. The texture of the paper is interrupting all of the subtle qualities I’m trying to infuse into the drawing.

Honestly the only reason why I’m not starting it over today is because I didn’t have the best sleep last night and it’s never good to make big decisions on little sleep.

Warm-up

My normal daily warm-up.

What went well, what was awesome! Celebrate It!

I’ve had a very productive morning regardless of my sleep issues. I’ve also learned a lot with my continued sleep testing.

“If you want to hit the game running home run then you have to be willing to strike out in the same betters box.”

What needs work? What did you learn?

Rise to the challenge of this papers texture and see if I can overcome it. If not continue with changing it.

How am I going to Optimize moving forward?

Tomorrow I will try some methods of removing the texture of the paper if these attempts fail I will being the drawing over with the smooth vellum paper.

  1. I know you may not love the idea of starting over, but if you do (or if you don’t), I know you will use this as a learning experience which will make future drawings even more incredible! You need to be true to yourself.
