Daily Art #2914

I spent my session today on the floor grinding all kinds of charcoal into this paper throwing caution to the wind.

The light side of her face needs to be super bright compared to the rest of the drawing and I wasn’t getting that with just a little bit of charcoal rubbed into the rest of the drawing. So I stopped being cautious and worrying about the drawing and placed in all the value that I feel it needed.

Next session I will sit and take my time introducing the details and edges again. But, for the most part I’m happy with the overall value structure of the drawing now. I feel all that is left to do is refine everything.

Warm-up

My normal daily warm-up.

What went well, what was awesome! Celebrate It!

Okay sleep last night so I was easily distracted all morning, but it’s a Sunday so I can spend much more time on what I want.

What needs work? What did you learn?

Longer deep work times on other projects so I can finish them and get back to more art.

How am I going to Optimize moving forward?

I’m setting up a deep work timer and using it to push my comfort zone of deep work time. I’ll start with an hour and increase it by a few minutes every few days.
