When dealing with values this dark photographs just don’t see all the subtle transitions.
That is probably a good thing. When dealing with a value area that is so dark in most cases it’s not really necessary to get super detailed. Especially for this part of the drawing. Yes it’s Snape’s body and it needs to look accurate but I don’t need super crazy detail. Just a hint of what is there.
The value structure is establish, now all I need to do is get the edges and texture right.
The normal 15 minute warm-up in graphite.
What went well, what was awesome! Celebrate It!
Super excited at completing this drawing and moving on to the next this week.
What needs work? What did you learn?
More time and more focus.
How am I going to Optimize moving forward?
I’ll work hard to get my current projects done before the end of the month so I can spend as much time on art as possible.
