When dealing with values this dark photographs just don’t see all the subtle transitions.
That is probably a good thing. When dealing with a value area that is so dark in most cases it’s not really necessary to get super detailed. Especially for this part of the drawing. Yes it’s Snape’s body and it needs to look accurate but I don’t need super crazy detail. Just a hint of what is there.
The value structure is establish, now all I need to do is get the edges and texture right.
