Christmas Landscape 4 Start

I’ve had a very productive day today, but not on art unfortunately. I only spent about an hour painting today.

This landscape, in my opinion, is magnificent. But I’m not sure how well it is going to translate into a small painting like this. There may be too much gray so I’m thinking about making adjustments to the original image beyond what I normally adjust.

What went well?

I was able to get about an hour of art done today, 30 minutes of painting and other time testing out some varnish for the other gouache paintings.

What didn’t go so well?

I would like to have more time on the painting today but I recognized that my focus just wasn’t there after a long day of running errands.

What did I learn?

Noticing my energy levels and picking the right task for the job is super important to keeping my output of work positive and fulfilling.

My day is complete only when I do some piece of art each day, no matter how small. "There was a dream that was Rome. You could only whisper it. Anything more than a whisper and it would vanish, it was so fragile."
