I really envisioned this painting turning out much different. I figured the banana peel would have much more stability and it would sit up in a much more dynamic position. Unfortunately bananas are not nearly as structurally sound as I thought. It took me some time just to get the center to sit up, and it still looked like a bunch of deflated yellow ribbons. To top it all off I thought I was going crazy when painting this because the color of the banana was changing as I was looking at it. It was much more yellow when I started.
