I decided to stick with these long term figure paintings for a while. After looking at work from Robert Liberace I realized that I could push them further and learn much more.
What I like most about some of Robert Liberace’s figure studies is that they are so well done, that no one cares that they are studies, or a figure on a gray, obviously unfinished, background. I don’t plan on emulating his work exactly, but I do plan on learning from it.
So I started a new figure painting today, of a female. I hope achieve a sense of volume like his figures. I also may be less afraid to push the colors more.
