My easels, which I love and have had for 11 years now, just don’t work for the size of this painting. I didn’t want to rush out and buy an easel to fit the painting so I got resourceful and pulled the sliding door off the closet, leaned it up against the wall, and put some screws in the back to hold the painting. It worked fantastically! Of course when I’m done I’ll fix the wholes and paint the door in spots but the back of the door will never be seen, so I don’t feel it’s a big deal.
What I’ve learned from this is that I don’t need some super expensive easel. Whenever I get a larger studio of my own I’m going to use 4×8 sheets of wood from the hardware store as my easel. Love it!
