3947: Orangutan Day 2

I think in one of my previous posts I talked about how drawing accuracy is so important at the very beginning of the painting. For some reason with this painting I don’t feel that is necessary. Maybe because I’ve been looking at Greg Beecham’s work and admiring his use of mark making. Not sure but today I really threw down some paint with not much regard for drawing accuracy.

If you’re wondering why the canvas I’m working on is multi color, it’s because I’m painting on an up-cycled plastic panel. This is my continued effort to combine plastic conservation with animal conservation and my love for art all in one. Eventually I hope to bring more awareness to all three.
