I started a tiger on this 6×12 panel. It was a redo of this tiger. But I ended up deciding to redo the redo because I created the composition much too small. It would have been just too hard to paint the details in the eyes that I wanted at the size I first created. I’ll add both images below.


What went well? I understood when a composition just wouldn’t work and make the change before I got too far into the painting.
What needs work? Paint bigger.
How can I improve? Keep painting animals and get better at it so I can paint them faster and larger. Or just paint them larger and knock it out of the park.
