There are a lot of drawing issues I want to fix on this small painting but I soon realized after an hour of painting that I was getting too detailed and taking too long. For the next session I’m going to identify on the canvas all the drawing changes that need to happen then knock them out quickly.
Even from the image you can see that not much has changed on the painting in 1 hour of work.
What went well? I got 1 hour of art in and was able to focus.
What needs work? Don’t get so caught up in the detail so that the painting takes too long to finish.
How can I improve? Set a goal for the session and stick to it while keeping in mind the purpose for the painting as it will change the level of finish.
