When moving to a new subject, or a new series of paintings, it always takes me a few days to figure out the WHY and HOW. Today is no different. I decided to paint a Rhino first for my new series of animal paintings and I wanted to try out a very brightly colored rhino.
The idea is to take a good black and white photo of the rhino then add some very expressive color to it. I got the idea from looking at some AI art. I think it might be interesting.
But for today I only had the motivation to get the reference together and finish a quick drawing to establish the major placement on the painting.
