Another day painting and chatting with people on the zoo fence. I was able to finish this painting. My original idea was to keep it very loose and expressive but I’m drawn to the detail so that’s what ended up happening.
While I’m painting these outside the sun and tree above constantly throws shadows and direct light on the canvas changing it from minute to minute. It’s difficult to get colors even throughout but it’s always fun to see it light up when the sunlight hits it directly.
