I finished this painting. My first every painting over a digital print. I’m super happy with it! But I wonder how it looks compared to the one that I painted without the digital print under layer?
What do you think? Do you like the top one or the bottom one?
I like them both. The top painting seems more realistic, while the bottom painting feels more like a dream or memory.
I find the top painting more visually striking. Not exactly sure why, but I have a few observations. The top painting has harder edges, higher value contrast, and a narrower color gamut. The shapes of the mountains are less symmetrical, and the format of the canvas looks wider, which might change my perception of scale.
