3346: Schoolism Study 2

Today, the same as yesterday but with oil paint instead of charcoal.

I’m going to need to get out my gouache set. Craig Mullins suggested to use gouache for these studies to help avoid any blending.

A deep understanding of the fundamentals and of different art movements and what they are doing and why. With this understanding we can use those methods, mix and match those methods, to serve the image we are trying to create. From painting to painting you can pick and choose from a wealth of methods that will communicate the idea better. Without this we are stuck into one method. “That is the only way I know to paint.” Paraphrased from Craig Mullins and this YouTube series about his Schoolism course.
