3162: Happiness One, Session 1

I spent most of my time today agonizing over subject matter and searching for photos.

Happiness One

Most of the paintings I make are not the most uplifting of subjects and I’ve been wanting to approach my work from a space of positivity. But I thought I could find any photos to match what I wanted. Then, thanks to Pattie I realized a bias that I’ve had with picking subjects for my paintings.

This led me to some very new subjects that will thoroughly push the boundaries of what I’m comfortable painting. I’m not sure if anyone will like it, if it’s even viable as art today but I’m determined to lean into it and learn something.

What went well, what was awesome! Celebrate It!

I got some drawing time in with my crazy day.

What needs work? What did you learn?

Independence from the good or bad opinion of others.

How am I going to Optimize moving forward?

Paint what I want regardless of others and constantly seek out the subjects that are challenging.
