I did two more color key paintings today. And saved a litter of bunnies.
After the first one I realized right away that I am stepping too far out of my comfort zone. The artist that I’m trying to learn from has been doing paintings like this for years. I’m trying to get that method down without all of those years of experience. It would be best if I continue painting figures realistically while continually pushing the color and learning as I go.
I love this idea because I have a very strong base that I can stand upon. Knowledge that I can build from rather than trying to flounder around and someone else’s skill level.
Tomorrow I’m going to start in on the first of these paintings called impermanence. After that I’m creating a plan to turn through 100 figure paintings. I’m going to simplify all the variables and just focus on the figure as much as I can.
I would have gotten more done today but we had a bit of an emergency involving a stray cat and a litter of baby bunnies. We had to make two trips out to the humane society to rescue the bunnies.
