3071: Great Progress

Lots of success today with the Paper Cross painting.

Today during my morning art session I pumped my fists in excitement because I feel as though I’m finally reaching what I want in these paper paintings.

The subtleties are lost in the photos you see here but what I see in the original is awesome. I was able to turn the form of the top most mast in Paper Cross and create a glow that I’m very happy with. I’m most excited about my study in color paying off. With this small knowledge I’m already able to match values and neutral hues much closer. This is what has allowed me to let the more high chroma parts of the painting to stand out.

Tomorrow will be a short session. We are saying goodbye to your youngest cat and celebrating his life. I won’t be doing much but spending the last few moment with him, Pattie and The Kid. Family is so important. And I’m sure that the powerful emotions I’m feeling these last couple weeks will fuel a host of new art to come.

Munsell Hue Wheel

I plotted the first 6 colors on my Munsell Hue Wheel today. It seem super technical but I’m having a lot of fun doing it.
